The transition from fall into winter is always a special time.  The landscape progression from colorful leaves to white powdery snow makes us excited for the season to change and the holidays to approach.  It is also a reminder that the year is coming to an end and a great time to reflect on the time that has past and the arrival of the new year!

Holidays are always bustling with parties, people, family, festivities and food.

It is such a lively time, and you can always feel the energy in the air.  As we descend on the holidays this year think about how you want to make it special this year.  For me it is about creating an experience that will transcend into a memory for those around me.

I love selecting a unique gift that shows thought for the recipient or bringing a new dish or appetizer to a holiday party that impresses the guests.  One year I was asked to bring a sweet potato casserole to Thanksgiving.

Trust me, I love tradition, but when it comes to food, I get bored easily and love to think outside the box and experiment with flavors.  So, I created a sweet potato with sage browned butter glaze that left everyone talking for days and asking for the recipe.  It became so popular that I was requested to make it again the following year.  Sometimes it is good to break out of habitual cooking habits and tantalize the taste buds with something new!  Just like Christmas morning when you open presents with anticipation and excitement, our taste buds require the same thrill and attention.

Sometimes all it takes is a little motivation and inspiration to get your creative juices flowing.  Following Pinterest boards or bloggers can help or finding a unique gift that can be personalized on Etsy will do the trick!  Here are some of my favorite finds, websites, and bloggers that can make your holidays special this year!  And of course, don’t forget to visit my very own website for holiday gifts and recipes!
