Homemade Almond Milk Recipe

IIf you are savvy food label reader, here is why you need a homemade almond milk recipe. Most almond milk buyers are trying to lead a healthy lifestyle, but those ingredients on the almond milk containers are suspicious.  Carrageen, soy lethecin, and other preservatives – really????  Why deal with that when making your own almond milk at home is super easy, inexpensive, and even better tasting then the store bought varieties?

Ingredients:

2 heaping TBS Betsy’s Best Cinnamon Almond Butter

2 C filtered water

1/4 tsp Himalayan pink salt

Step By Step Homemade Almond Milk Recipe Directions:

Step 1: Blend all-ingredients in a blender until smooth.

Step 2: Store in refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Step 3: Shake before each use.

Step 4: Enjoy your delicious almond milk.

You can even change this homemade almond milk recipe into any kind of seed or nut butter milk. Use Betsy’s Best Sunflower Seed Butter, Toasted Coconut Cashew Butter, or Gourmet Peanut Butter for a delicious twist!  To make an even lower calorie version, add 1 more cup of filtered water.  Be sure to shake or stir before using as the chia seeds and almond pieces may settle to the bottom.  You may use a nut milk bag to remove these if you wish.

When you discover how easy it is to make almond milk you will never buy it at the store again!  I always use a cleaned out almond milk carton or glass beverage container to store my milk at home. With the hints of cinnamon, fiber from the chia seeds, and sweetness from the honey and almonds, this homemade almond milk recipe will be one you will savor and make again and again!

If you’re looking to spice up your breakfast, Betsy’s ginger smoothie recipe will be a hit.  After all, why do all smoothies have to be sweet? Add some heat to your morning blend and give your smoothie a kick with some ginger and cayenne combined with our delicious gourmet Betsy’s Best Cinnamon Peanut Butter. Warning! If you substitute in a different PB brand this smoothie just won’t be the same.

Recipe Ingredients:

Betsy’s Best Cinnamon Peanut Butter

1 C almond or other milk alternative

1/2 frozen banana

6 baby carrots

1 T chia seeds

1 T hemp seeds

pinch sea salt

1 small knob ginger (can adjust size depending on taste)

dash of cayenne

Step By Step Ginger Smoothie Recipe Directions:

Step 1: Blend until smooth.

Step 2: Add more cayenne if you need more heat!.

Step 7: Enjoy your cayenne pepper ginger smoothie!

1 oz. almond milk

Step By Step Recipe Directions:

Step 1: Melt caramel so it drizzles easily.

Step 2: Swirl caramel in glass and set aside.

Step 3: Combine all remaining ingredients in martini shaker with ice.

Step 4: Pour into caramel-drizzled glass and serve.

Step By Step Pumpkin Chia Pudding Recipe Directions:

Step 1: Mix all ingredients together.

Step 2: Wait for it to gel, stirring every few moments. As you go, eyeball it to see how much extra almond milk it needs. It may need a few tablespoons; it may need 1/3 cup more. It’s hard to predict!

Step 3: As soon as the texture matches what you like, the pudding is ready to serve. Yield: 1 serving

Step 5: Enjoy your pumpkin chia pudding!
