Celebrating the 4th of July

Celebrating the 4th of July

The 4th of July, America’s independence day, is one of our favorite holidays at Betsy’s Best.   As entrepreneurs, we are living the American dream. Not only are we building a great company, we are doing it while having fun and fulfilling our passion for great tasting, healthy, all-natural nut and seed butters.  Peanut butter is, of course, a classic American food. No country loves peanut butter as much as America.  We are so proud to be giving Americans a new choice for great tasting gourmet peanut butter, almond butter, and sunflower seed butter that are non-gmo.

So, as we prepare to grill later today and celebrate while watching amazing fireworks tonight, we decided to list our 10 favorite things about America at this moment:

  • Our soldiers that are overseas protecting our freedom at this very moment
  • Cooking out with great friends
  • 4th of July fireworks
  • Freedom and respect for every individual
  • The USA Women’s Soccer Team (USA! USA! USA!)
  • The opportunity to pursue the American dream
  • Spending the holiday at the beach
  • Watching a great Hollywood summer blockbuster
  • The show of patriotism at Independence Day parades

We are so lucky to be American’s living in the greatest country on Earth!

Happy 4th of July!

How To Make Red White and Blue Cookie | Step by Step Recipe Directions:

Step 1Brown your Butter: In a saucepan melt the butter over medium heat and continue to cook and swirl until it turns brown, brown bits stick to the bottom of the pan and smells delightfully nutty.  Add Betsy’s Best and stir until incorporated. Transfer to a bowl to cool

Step 2: In a large bowl combine flours, baking soda, baking powder, cornstarch, and salt. Whisk together and set aside.

Step 3: Combine butter, cream cheese and sugars in the bowl of a stand mixer and beat until creamy and lighter, 3-4 minutes. Add the egg, and beat. Add the vanilla and be sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl as necessary.

Step 4: Reduce the mixer speed to low and gradually add the flour mixture until fully mixed.

Step 5: Refrigerate overnight.  The melted butter makes this step critical.

Step 6: Prepare the chia pudding by combining all ingredients into a mason jar or bowl with a lid.  Shake jar and place in refrigerator.  Wait about 10-15 min and then shake jar again.  Place in refrigerator overnight to set.

Step 7: Preheat oven to 350°.  Spray mini-muffin tin with non-stick spray. Use mini muffin tins and fill until 1/2 way full and push mixture to fit the mold of the small muffin mold.  Bake for 8-10 min until just golden.  Remove from oven and wait until cool enough to touch.  With thumb, press cookie mixture firmly into the mold and up the side of the mold to create a deep pocket where with pudding mixture will go.  Once fully cooled, place a dollop of pudding mixture into each cookie cup.  Leaving cups in the tins decorate with blueberries and strawberries.  Enjoy!

Step 8: Enjoy!
